TRAVEL INFORMATION

ITINERARY

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by one of our experienced driver guides, who will escort you to Arusha for an overnight stay. Located at the base of Mount Meru and close to Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha is known as the safari capital of Tanzania.

Arusha lies on the Great Rift Valley and is one of the few cities in the world where the population is almost equally split between Christians and Muslims, reflecting Tanzania’s cultural harmony.

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds and majestic baobab trees. Wildlife sightings include wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, and impala, while lions and leopards are often seen resting in the shade. The Tarangire River, a permanent water source, attracts animals year-round.

Baobab trees found here can live for over 1,000 years and can store up to 120,000 liters of water in their trunks, helping both trees and animals survive long droughts.

Depart for the legendary Serengeti, passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. Upon entering Serengeti, enjoy a game drive en route to your camp. Expect sightings of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and a wide variety of antelopes.

The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word Siringet, meaning “endless plains,” perfectly describing its vast, sweeping savannahs that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti’s diverse landscapes, from golden grasslands to riverine forests. The park is famous for its predators—lions, leopards, and cheetahs—often seen hunting the plains game.

Serengeti hosts one of the largest lion populations in Africa, with an estimated 3,000 lions roaming the plains. January–March is calving season, when thousands of wildebeest calves are born daily.

Another exciting day of exploration in Serengeti. Your guide will focus on different areas to maximize wildlife sightings, including kopjes (ancient granite outcrops) where lions often bask in the sun.

Kopjes are sometimes called “islands in the sea of grass” and are among the oldest rock formations on Earth, dating back over 500 million years. They also provide shelter for rare species like the rock hyrax.

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site shelters nearly 30,000 animals within its walls, including elephants, hippos, lions, and rare black rhinos.

The Ngorongoro Crater was formed about 2.5 million years ago when a giant volcano collapsed. It is the world’s largest unbroken caldera and offers one of the best chances in Africa to see the Big Five in a single day.

On your final day, enjoy a game drive at Lake Manyara, a compact but incredibly diverse park. Known for its flamingos, hippos, and unique tree-climbing lions, it’s a photographer’s paradise.

Lake Manyara is an alkaline soda lake that forms part of the flamingo migration route. At certain times of the year, thousands of flamingos gather here, painting the lake pink.

In the afternoon, return to Arusha, marking the end of your safari adventure.
