ITINERARY

Your journey begins with a hotel pick-up in Zanzibar (timing varies by location). You’ll be transferred to Dar es Salaam Airport (Terminal 2) for your 14:40 domestic flight to Kigoma, arriving at 17:40.

Upon arrival, our driver will meet you and transfer you to Kigoma Hilltop Hotel, a relaxing lakeside retreat surrounded by nature and overlooking Lake Tanganyika. The evening is yours to unwind and enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Main Destination: Kigoma Town (Lake Tanganyika)

After an early breakfast (06:00 AM), you’ll transfer by boat (1 hour) across Lake Tanganyika to Gombe National Park. Upon arrival, check-in at Mbali Mbali Gombe Lodge, located within the park.

After lunch, enjoy free time to swim, relax, or explore the beach. In the early evening (07:30 PM), embark on a short guided hike to a nearby waterfall, where you can swim and look out for primates.

Optional: Kayaking and sunset experience on Lake Tanganyika.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out with your expert guide on another exciting chimpanzee trek. Your time in the forest will vary depending on the chimps’ movements as they search for food.

Along the trail, you may also spot other primates, birds, and fascinating flora. Once the chimpanzees are located, observe their social behavior—grooming, playing, and interacting in their family groups.

Return to your lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps enjoying the views of the lake or a quiet moment on the beach.

Begin the day with breakfast at 7:00 AM, followed by registration at the park HQ and your final chimpanzee trek. Expect a moderately challenging hike, possibly lasting 4–6 hours through steep terrain.

After returning to the lodge and enjoying lunch, you’ll take a boat ride back to Kigoma in the late afternoon. Check-in again at Kigoma Hilltop Hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure before dinner.

Wake up to beautiful lake views and enjoy an early breakfast at 6:00 AM. Your driver will transfer you to Kigoma Airport for your 08:30 AM flight to Dar es Salaam.

Upon arrival at 10:40 AM, connect with your onward flight to Zanzibar. Once in Zanzibar, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel, marking the end of this unforgettable experience.
